Romco Equipment Company’s efforts in heavy equipment sales and customer service have earned the distributor Volvo’s highest honor, the Circle of Excellence Award. Romco has offices in Dallas, Austin, Houston, Forth Worth, San Antonio, and Longview, TX.

Volvo rated Romco number one overall using four criteria: sales and marketing, product support, customer feedback via Volvo’s Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and financial strength.

“1999 was a very good year for us,” said Romco President and CEO Robert Mullins. “You look at our first-place finish with the Hitachi Dealer Service Award, then being named Support Member of the Year [medium-sized businesses] by TMRA and now this.

“We strive to have a superior commitment to our customers’ needs and recognition like this backs that up,” he continued. “We want to thank Volvo for being part of our team.”

Dennis Slagle, senior vice president of sales for Volvo North America, credited Romco. “They [Romco] are well managed, they’re progressive in their attitude with systems, they have aligned themselves with quality manufacturers and they have truly put resources in the areas of sales and marketing, product support and of course finance.

“That has allowed them to rise to the top as one of the best dealers, not only in Texas, but in the country and it’s something I think the employees of Romco should be proud of because that represents stability for the future,” said Slagle.

Slagle went on to say that a big part of that stability lies in the consistent performance he has witnessed over the years from Romco.

Fifty equipment dealers in North America competed for Volvo’s Circle of Excellence Award.
