Dan Moore said Hitachi machines were “a natural fit” to R.W. Moore Equipment Company’s offerings.

The North Carolina equipment dealer specializes in John Deere, which has a close working relationship with Hitachi. The companies share a manufacturing facility in Kernersville, N.C.

R.W. Moore officially became a Hitachi dealer Sept. 1.

“Hitachi is such a well-respected brand and we feel privileged to have the opportunity to represent them,” said Moore, president of R.W. Moore. “This is a testament to our people and the job they’ve done. It’s not easy to qualify for a line like this.”

Moore said the company will be able to expand its relationship with mining companies. While they already sell trucks and loaders to these firms, the new equipment from Hitachi will allow for more of a choice.

He said R.W. Moore has been looking to add large machines for a couple of years and has upgraded its service truck fleet in anticipation of the move.

R.W. Moore technicians will undergo training on the new machines, which Moore said share commonalities with John Deere machines, “so it’s not that big of a leap for us.”

R.W. Moore has six locations that serve more than half of North Carolina from the Triangle region to the coast. It also represents John Deere equipment, Sakai vibratory rollers, ASV Posi-Track skid steers, Takeuchi skid steers and mini-excavators, Boxer equipment, Kent Demolition tools, Morbark chippers and grinders and Bell equipment.
