Tadano announced Scott Walter as the new vice president of sales for its Manitex Inc. business. This important next step to integrate Manitex Inc. into the Tadano America organization will serve to improve sales and support for customers.

"From the very beginning, we saw the Manitex Inc. investment as key to meeting Tadano's vision of becoming the leader in lifting equipment," said Dean Barley, president and CEO of Tadano America Corporation, Manitex Inc. and Tadano Mantis Corporation. "Since last January, we've dedicated much time and effort in enhancing our product, services and support infrastructure for customers. With this addition to the team, we are now adding an increased focus on sales. Scott has a long, proven track record of sales success and team member development. His wealth of industry experience is necessary for leading our sales teams in support of our customers' lifting needs."

Walter adds nearly 30 years of sales and more than 20 years of management experience to the Manitex Inc. team. With this addition, Tadano further strengthens the Manitex sales leadership team, bringing together Jeff Long, director of sales of boom trucks, bucket trucks and sign cranes, and Anthony Hampton, director of sales of knuckle boom cranes — each contributing specialized expertise in their respective product areas to better support customers' needs, and both reporting to Walter.

Offering global experience, Walter has successfully negotiated contracts and managed business development. Most recently, he spent the last 16 years as vice president of strategic accounts (OEM sector) of Ritchie Bros., charged with managing the company's team of strategic account managers within the OEM sector.

"I'm honored to be joining a market-leading organization like Tadano, who has built a strong global reputation for leadership in the lifting industry and delivers innovative solutions and services for its customers," said Walter. "Working with the Manitex Inc. team, Tadano has leveraged its experience to simplify the business, equipment distributors and customers with innovative tools to ensure success, and strengthened customer support by creating a laser focus on each of the key product lines. I'm excited to get to work and do my part to build on this success."
