MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) There has been a change in ownership at Heiden Inc., but it remains in the family.

Matthew and Karen Jacobson have purchased the firm from their father, William Jacobson.

Founded in 1958, Heiden’s 60 employees specialize in steel, stainless steel and aluminum welding, forming and fabrication serving industries in the upper Midwest.

The company also manufactures a line of crane truck attachments serving the logging, railroad, construction, recycling and roofing industries.

Matt Jacobson, who has worked at the firm in various positions, now has majority ownership and will assume the role of president and chief financial officer.

Karen Jacobson, who joined Heiden last year after serving as a senior vice president at AIG in New York City, assumes the role of vice president in charge of administration, human resources and safety.

The focus of the company will remain largely unchanged, Matt Jacobson said.
