The Philadelphia 76ers and Ransome CAT, the official truck provider of the Sixers Toy Drive, joined forces to collect toys for the hundreds of children affected by Hurricane Sandy. A Ransome CAT dump truck delivered the toys to the Salvation Army of Atlantic City.

Fans in attendance at the Sixers’ home game against the Atlanta Hawks on Dec. 21 were asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to support the Toy Drive, in exchange for a voucher for a postgame autograph session with guards Evan Turner or Nick Young.

More than 800 toys were collected.

The Sixers Toy Drive is part of the team’s “Drive 4 Kids” program, sponsored annually by Comcast SportsNet.
