Skanska has signed a contract to build the new Women and Children's Health Building for Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Del. The contract is worth $178 million and will be included in the order bookings for Skanska USA Building in the third quarter 2016.

This eight-story, 387,500 sq. ft. (36,000 sq m) expansion will include a replacement neonatal intensive-care unit; the expansion of outpatient units; lab; pharmacy; and dietary clinical and logistical support services. The expansion also includes the expansion of a four-level parking garage for patients and visitors, which Skanska was previously awarded.

Construction is under way and the project is slated for completion in January 2020.
