SmithCo side dump trailers will feature its latest advancement for the construction industry, The BRUTE CP30 side dump trailer, at ConExpo in Booth P7947.
The BRUTE is an innovative new side dump trailer that provides a more efficient way to transport dirt and debris from construction sites, the company said.
"It offers faster load times and capabilities for more strategic dumping, saves on maintenance costs and requires minimal training to operate," SmithCo added. "It's ideal for construction projects, particularly as an alternative to scrapers for off-road site preparation — hauling more dirt, faster and at a lower cost."
SmithCo re-engineered its original CP30 construction pup trailer to develop The BRUTE as a more robust version of this popular trailer. The BRUTE is designed with heavy-duty components that bolster the frame, hinges, hitch and landing gear — enabling it to handle the toughest construction sites, the company said. It can be pulled with construction power units or tractors for off-road work and provides a 30-ton capacity with all-terrain, heavy-duty flotation tires. The BRUTE can be used as a single unit or hooked in tandem or triple combinations to move larger amounts of material.
Grayson Edwards, owner of Global CM LLC, will be at SmithCo's booth throughout ConExpo. Edwards was integral in testing The BRUTE during its development, and together with site preparation expert Steve Moyna of Moyna Consulting, will be presenting an Education Session titled, "New Technology in Site Preparation Will Speed Job Times & Increase Profits" on Monday, March 3 from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. as part of the "Earthmoving & Site Development" and "Technology Solutions" learning tracks. The session will explore site preparation projects that incorporate tractors and side dump trailers versus traditionally used scrapers and haul trucks. The case study will demonstrate a decrease in operating and maintenance costs along with an increase in efficiency for these types of projects.
SmithCo also will showcase its SX5 and SX6 side dump trailers at the event. The SX5 features five axles as well as a liftable/steerable axle added behind the landing leg area. The SX design allows operators to stockpile or windrow to either the curb or roadside. This trailer works well in most states that allow for a gross weight of up to 108,500 lbs., the company said.
The SX6 trailer provides easier maneuverability, exceptional capacity and less cost upfront than doubles or trains offer, SmithCo added. It features three standard axles with three Ridewell steerable lift axle suspensions. The SX6 design allows operators with a standard CDL to haul up to 37.4 tons.
"SmithCo side dump trailers are a safe and efficient way to haul a variety of construction materials, including dirt, rocks, construction debris and more," the company said. "SmithCo trailers are made-to-order and built to meet each customer's specific needs."
