With the introduction of PM knuckle boom cranes, Tadano is complementing its all terrain, rough terrain, crawler cranes and boom truck offerings.

For customers, this expansion means a more complete portfolio from a single source, supported by aligned sales, service and parts across product categories, in line with the Tadano standards customers have come to expect.

"With the addition of PM knuckle boom cranes to our North American lineup, we're giving customers more choice and the right tool for every lifting application," said Anthony Hampton, director of sales, PM Tadano Manitex, Tadano America. "These cranes are designed for the jobs our customers do every day, and with Tadano's support network behind them, they deliver productivity, reliability, and confidence across their fleets."

Designed for North American Applications

PM knuckle boom cranes are suited for the applications that dominate United States and Canadian job sites, including material delivery and placement, utility work, tree care and arborist operations, building materials handling, jobsite logistics and lifting in confined or congested environments. Their articulated design allows for load handling, efficient operation on busy job sites and a compact working envelope compared to some traditional lifting solutions, according to Tadano.

For deliver-and-place workflows in particular, PM knuckle boom cranes offer clear productivity advantages, enabling operators to unload and position materials quickly and precisely with a single machine.

"PM knuckle boom cranes are a strong fit for the U.S. and Canadian market because they are designed around real-world applications — material delivery, construction support and contractor-owned fleets where reach, stability and controllability matter," Hampton said. "Combined with Tadano's existing lineup, they allow us to offer purpose-built lifting solutions across a broader range of jobsite needs."

Early Market Adoption

Tadano PM knuckle boom cranes are already in operation with North American customers and distributors, with multiple units delivered and additional orders in progress. This current momentum reflects growing market interest and confidence in the Tadano PM offering, supported by Tadano's expanding North American sales and service network.

PM Models Displayed at ConExpo

At ConExpo 2026, Tadano displayed three PM models designed specifically for North American applications:

PM 16524 S — Ideal for applications across roofing, tree care, precast handling, propane delivery, forming (brick and block), tile and marble installation and general materials unloading.

PM 23525 SP PT — Well suited for roofing, tree care, precast, trenching, propane delivery, forming (brick and block), tile and marble installation and materials unloading applications.

PM 65024 SP PT with J1414.20 fly jib — Designed for demanding applications including oil field service, tree care, precast handling, trenching and forming (brick and block) and wallboard handling.

More Complete Tadano Portfolio

By adding PM knuckle boom cranes to its lineup, Tadano is strengthening its ability to support North American customers with a broader, more versatile lifting portfolio — while maintaining the quality, reliability and service expectations associated with the Tadano brand, according to Tadano.

"Customers can now work with one organization to address nearly every lifting application," said Dean Barley, president and CEO of Tadano America. "That's a significant step forward in how we support fleets across North America."
