The luck of the draw recently brought Vermeer yellow iron and bragging rights to doorstep of Vermeer CTX100 Mini Skid Steer Sweepstakes winner, Ross Heinen.

The Operations Manager at Puryear Farms, Inc., a nursery and landscape business located in Gallatin, Tennessee, Heinen entered the contest at the 2016 Green Industry and Equipment Expo last October.

“I was excited — it's always fun to get a new piece of equipment to use,” Heinen said of receiving the call from Vermeer notifying him of the contest win.

“We will use it for a variety of landscape tasks; from dirt work, to tree installation, moving pallets and more.”

The sweepstakes, which coincided with the launch of the new CTX100 mini skid steer, grants Heinen free use of the machine for a full six months. The CTX100 features vertical lift boom arms, which offer a higher lift capacity than a similarly sized radial lift arm machine.

In addition, Vermeer increased the hinge pin height to help landscape contractors load and transport materials more efficiently.

“I think I am most excited about the opportunity to see what a larger mini skid (like the CTX100) can do; we currently run a smaller size machine,” Heinen said. “I am also excited to try out some different attachments.”
