Thieves Abscond With $20K Worth of Tools

KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - Police in central Nebraska are looking for a construction trailer full of tools taken from the site of the new Kearney High School being built.

The Kearney Hub reports (http://bit.ly/1O80wWU ) that the theft occurred last weekend between midday Saturday and early Sunday. Police say someone drove onto the property, hooked the 24-foot white enclosed trailer to a pickup and drove off with it.

Midland Mechanical of Hastings owns the trailer and tools that were taken and has its logo on the sides of the stolen trailer. Police say tools also were stolen from other contractors at the school site. The total loss of all tools stolen from the site is estimated at $20,000.

Police say no school property was damaged and that they have no suspects in the case.
