The new Demag AC 250-6 all terrain crane acquired by Augustow-based Polish crane service provider Transdzwig S.J. Zawadzcy had to face its first real test during its 932 mi. trip home from Zweibrücken to Poland. There was a windstorm the entire way, and the Demag AC 250-6 passed the test by unflinchingly staying the course, unlike many trucks along the way.

“What really surprised us above all, however, was the low fuel consumption despite a high average speed,” owner Miroslaw Zawadzki said.

Together with crane operators Boguslaw Karpinski and Zbigniew Zyskowski, he received the new crane from Edgar Gräber, junior sales manager at the Zweibrücken plant. The crane was ordered through Polish construction equipment dealer EWPA, which also had a representative at the handover in the form of Maciej Dobski.

There were two decisive factors in Miroslaw Zawadzki's decision to buy the Demag AC 250-6: The proven drive design with powerful and reliable Mercedes engines, and the fact that the main boom is extremely long at 262 ft. (80 m). Moreover, the IC-1 control menu, which is available in Polish, also helped convince the entrepreneur.

In addition to using it for customer rentals, Transdzwig wants to use the crane to recover damaged trucks and other large machines.
