In February 2012, more than 500 governmental, state highway and highway contractors attended Kirby-Smith Machinery and Wirtgen America’s free educational paving seminar to learn the most current technology and best practices in paving, compaction, asphalt recycling and soil stabilization.

Continuing its support for Texas Highways, Kirby-Smith Machinery and Wirtgen America are sponsoring a free paving seminar once again.

Industry experts in Hot Mix Design (RAP and RAS), paving, compaction, asphalt recycling and soil stabilization will be instructing on best practices, latest advancements in paving, and the most cost efficient methods to pave Texas highways. On display will be more than $8 million of state of the art paving equipment.

The seminar is being held at the Arlington Convention Center on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In today’s economy such seminars are vital: To maintain its roadway infrastructure the state of Texas has identified $188 billion in needed projects to achieve an acceptable level of mobility by 2030. But only $102 billion will be available to meet those needs with a shortfall of more than $86 billion.

Kirby-Smith Machinery has been servicing the highway industry for more than 30 years. Kirby-Smith has service locations in Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Lubbock, Odessa, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, and Tulsa. Komatsu, Manitowoc, Wirtgen, LeeBoy/Rosco, Atlas Copco, and Gradall are just a few of the premiere products they service.
