The Caterpillar 257B is a compact track loader designed for material handling, grading, site preparation, and general construction work. It features a rubber track undercarriage for improved flotation and traction on soft, uneven, or muddy ground compared with wheeled skid steer loaders. The 257B is commonly used in landscaping, utility work, agriculture, and light demolition. Caterpillar equipped the model with a vertical lift path for loading trucks and placing materials.
