The Caterpillar 257D is a compact track loader designed for material handling, grading, site preparation, and general construction work. It features a vertical lift design, rubber track undercarriage, and a compact frame for operation in confined spaces and on uneven ground. The 257D is commonly used with buckets, forks, grapples, augers, and other hydraulic attachments. Caterpillar built the 257D for traction, flotation, and maneuverability in applications where wheeled loaders may be limited. It is part of Caterpillar's D Series compact track loader lineup and is used in landscaping, utility, agriculture, and light construction environments.
