Vögele launched the new Dash 5 Generation pavers in the United States at ConExpo 2026.
Alongside the Super 2100-5 X, the road paver specialist showed the new 10-ft. class for the first time at the show in Las Vegas. The Super 2000-5 X tracked paver enables paving widths of 10 ft. to 27 ft. 9 in., while the Super 2003-5 X wheeled variant achieves paving widths of up to 25 ft. 5 in.
Both pavers offer a laydown rate of up to 1,540 tons per hour and are designed for high paving speeds. As Dash 5 generation machines, they also combine user-friendliness, process automation and cost efficiency. A number of new features increase operator comfort and reduce the commissioning and setup times. This increases productivity while simultaneously reducing costs for transportation or reworking, according to Vögele.
New Dash 5 Screeds
Both pavers can be used in combination with the new VR 600 and VF 600 screeds. The VR 600 with screed extensions mounted behind the basic screed is equipped with a completely redesigned guidance system that simplifies the paving of concrete profiles, according to Vögele.
In addition, its very low height affords an ideal overview of the inside of the auger tunnel. It offers paving widths of 10 ft. to 25 ft. 9 in. and is suitable for the construction of highways and larger projects with high paving speeds.
The VF 600 with extensions mounted in front of the basic screed offers an improved material flow for even material spreading. It enables paving widths of 10 ft. to 25 ft. 5 in. and is ideal for jobs with varying working widths. The extensions for both screed types can be tilted by up to 10 percent and are therefore precisely aligned with the paving needs of the North American market. In conjunction with the vibration compaction system (V), they achieve optimal evenness and pre-compaction.
More Comfort, Automation, Efficiency
Both the screeds and the pavers of the new Dash 5 generation are designed entirely with their users in mind: with the upgraded ErgoPlus 5 operating concept, Vögele provides a better overview, more comfort and storage options, improved ergonomics and an optional touchscreen display for digital applications. The new paver access control function (PAC) enables convenient commissioning and decommissioning of the Dash 5 paver from ground level, according to Vögele.
In addition, the Lighting Package Plus option with permanently integrated LED floodlights provides additional safety and shorter setup times when working on construction sites at night. With automatic functions such as AutoTrac automatic steering and screed width control or the Smart Pave digital paving control system, the Dash 5 pavers reduce the users' workload while simultaneously increasing efficiency and quality, according to Vögele.
Furthermore, the digital solution Wirtgen Group performance tracker (WPT) paving enables precise documentation of the paving process and the work on the construction site. The new RoadScan option can be be added to enable precise, full-coverage measurement of the paving temperature over a measuring width of up to 42 ft. 8 in.
Lower Emissions
In addition, Vögele has implemented a number of measures designed to reduce the Dash 5 paver's CO2 and noise emissions. These include the improved EcoPlus low-emissions package. The speed-controlled fan has been adapted so that it calculates the rotational speed even more precisely and, together with other measures, reduces noise emissions.
New Dash 5 Mini Class Pavers
Apart from the highway class pavers, Vögele also presented a mini class paver of the new generation in Las Vegas, the Super 800-5 P. The successor to the SUPER 700i, has an engine rated output of 74 hp, a laydown rate of up to 330 tons per hour and, with a width of only 4 ft. 7 in. and a length of 14 ft. 5 in., is also extremely compact, according to Vögele.
In combination with the AB 200 and AB 220 extending screeds and the vibration or tamper and vibration compaction variants, it offers paving widths between 1 ft. 8 in. and 11 ft. 6 in. — making it the ideal choice for paving on narrow construction sites, according to Vögele. Compared to its predecessor, the Dash 5 model also incorporates numerous new features.
New Hopper Geometry, New Operator's Platform
On the one hand, Vögele has updated the material hopper: the asymmetrical material hopper wall configuration, for instance for paving along a wall, is now possible on both sides. Furthermore, the hopper walls of the Super 800-5 P now feature a double folding function, according to Vögele. This gives the operator an unobstructed view ahead of the paver.
Vögele also has further improved the ergonomics of the operator's platform: the angle of the new ErgoBasic paver operator's control console can now be adjusted in four steps to accommodate taller or smaller operators. For the first time, the operator's console of the new ErgoBasic 5 operating concept features an integrated display on which the operator can view the operational data of the machine in real-time. In addition, Vögele has fully integrated operation of the auto grade basic system for automated grade and slope control into the machine control system. This means that screed operators can now control the Super 800-5 P via a console in compact form.
