Volvo Rents has acquired SoCal Rental EquipRent, a single location construction equipment rental company in Glendora, Calif.
This is part of the company’s continuing acquisition process over the last 12 months, lifting its North American total to more than 80 stores. The new Glendora, Calif., Volvo Rents location is the 6th for the company in the state.
The new location will enhance the business’ presence in the Los Angeles/southern California market alongside the already established Bakersfield and Temecula Volvo Rents locations.
“Buying construction equipment requires tremendous capital outlay. A company might buy a piece of equipment for $50,000, but only need it for three months out of the year. We bring the equipment to them, pick it up and perform the maintenance so there’s no downtime. It’s also tax-deductible,” said Mike Crouch, vice president of business development of Volvo Rents.
Adding this location, Peter Maginnis and the SoCal Rental EquipRent group is an automatic fit to the Volvo Rents team. Their customer and job site knowledge in the Glendora and Los Angeles markets will prove invaluable as the company continues to strategically grow its footprint, according to the company.
Maginnis will remain active with the operations/management of the new Volvo Rents location as GM.
