As proposed, in fiscal year 2019 the federal government would pay $17.52 million of $21.01 million to pay for Wyoming Department of Transportation construction projects within Park County.
Another $3.4 million would come from the State of Wyoming.
Projects include:
- Pavement rehabilitation at the Pitchford-Wood River West section, Meeteetse, 2.22 mi., $2.54 million;
- Chief Joseph Highway slide repair, .11 mi., $6 million;
- Railroad work along Park County Road 10 and Lane 17, $168,000;
- Reconstruction of 1.6 mi. of the Beartooth Highway, Tiger Grant, $14.6 million; and
- Pavement rehab of Meeteetse Rim section, 5.14 mi., $3.1 million.
In 2020, the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program lists transportation and airport projects totaling $11.88 million. Pavement work is planned for 1.18 mi. of U.S. 14-16-20 in Cody and 7.21 mi. between Cody and Meeteetse.
Beyond 2020, the STIP proposes:
- Reconstruction of the Pat O'Hara Creek section, Cody to Montana, 3.35 mi., to be completed in 2021;
- New construction of Cougar Avenue starting at Cody Middle School and running between Freedom Street and the Powell Highway, to be completed in 2021;
- Pavement rehab on the Shoshone River Bridge between Cody to Ralston, 2.11 mi., to be completed in 2022;
- Pavement rehab Meeteetse to Cody, 6.2 mi., to be completed in 2022;
- Pavement rehab Cody to Greybull, Eagle Pass section, 14.82 mi., to be completed in 2023;
- Pavement rehab Yellowstone to Cody, Buffalo Bill Reservoir, 5.28 mi., to be completed in 2023;
- Pavement resurface Chief Joseph Highway, Sunlight-Swamp Lake location, 8.35 mi., to be completed in 2024; and
- Drainage repair, Yellowstone National Park to Cody, .36 mi., to be completed in 2024.
