Volvo Construction Plans to Set Up Manufacturing Facility in Shanghai
Volvo Construction Equipment S.A. recently said it has decided to set up a wholly owned unit and a facility for manufacturing construction equipment in Shanghai .
The company, which is part of the Volvo Group, said investment in the facility totals around $15 million.
The new facility is scheduled to start operations in early 2003 and initially will be used for assembling crawler excavators, the company said in a statement....

Thousands Flock to Las Vegas for ConExpo/ConAGG Extravaganza
With more than 100,000 visitors and registered guests, ConExpo/ConAGG 2002 started and closed with a bang.
Major manufacturers launched scores of machines with much fanfare and a quality crowd to usher it all in.
The enormous trade show was also a chance for many industry-wide associations to hold annual meetings and other hospitality events.

As the new $400-million Gaylord Opryland Texas starts to rise from the ground, the secret to construction success lies in the fine-tuned orchestration of contractors and equipment. The Grapevine, TX, facility will be a major convention center/entertainment and hotel complex, and a major undertaking.
The primary contractor is Dallas-based Centex Construction Company and its vice president of operations, Bob Gist.
