Construction Equipment Guide

In his new position as Construction Equipment Guide (CEG) Southeast Sales Manager, Tim Batman is building on three decades of industry experience. Batman handles advertising sales for the construction trade publication in Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Just as he is a welcome addition to the publication, Batman also is excited at the new opportunity. “CEG is a fine publication. It has an outstanding reputation for being the most read construction equipment newspaper in the industry.”

With the editorial format that CEG has, my customers’ advertising is not cluttered in a sea of ads. It is always enjoyable to sell a product that I know will fulfill my customers’ needs of reaching quality buyers,” he added.

Batman, who joined CEG on March 17, most recently was employed by Yarbrough Equipment, Plant City, FL, where he bought, sold and handled rentals of heavy construction equipment.

Previously, Batman worked for Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, Orlando, FL, as a territory manager covering east central Florida.

As a major account executive for Browning Ferris Industries, Batman covered an 11-county sales territory in west central Florida, where he handled clients in the construction and hazardous waste accounts.

Before that, he was employed for 15 years at Overhead Door Company as franchise manager. The company sold and serviced commercial, residential garage doors, dock levelers, dock seals, fireplaces, and residential entry doors and hardware.

“Coming out of the service industry has really been a plus for me. To be successful in the service industry, you have to learn to listen to what your customers are saying and then implement a plan so you can meet their needs.

“It does not matter what type of business my customers are in, they all have a want or need. If I ask the right questions and listen to what they are saying, I have a much better chance of meeting that need. If I am asking and listening, I can better formulate a plan to successfully help them and their businesses.”

To contact Batman for any advertising sales needs, call 800/344-3026 or CEG’s main office at 800/523-2200.
