Bobcat Co.’s new LT414 trencher attachment gives contractors who need a high-flow trencher with a 4- or 5-ft. (1.2 or 1.5 m) dig depth to tackle tough trenching jobs.

The LT414 trencher attachment models feature a 4- or 5-ft. (1.2 or 1.5 m) dig depth and are approved for operation on various Bobcat compact loaders with a high-flow auxiliary hydraulic system. The LT414 expands the Bobcat trencher attachment line, which includes the MX112, LT112, LT213, LT313, and LT405.

Bobcat representatives said the new LT414 provides an additional option to contractors needing a trencher with high-flow performance, but that doesn’t require the heavy-duty capabilities of the LT405.

The hydraulic flow capability of the trencher motor will accept flow ranging from 26 to 40 gpm (98 to 151 Lpm) to accommodate loaders with auxiliary hydraulic flow up to 37 gpm (140 Lpm). The 4-ft. (1.2 m) dig depth trencher model is approved for use on Bobcat skid steer loaders (models S160H through S300H), compact track loaders (T180H through T300H), and the A300H all-wheel steer loader.

If operators need additional dig depth, they can choose the 5-ft. (1.5 m) dig depth model. It is approved for use on Bobcat skid steer loaders (models S220H through S300H), compact track loaders (T250H through T300H), and the A300H all-wheel steer loader.

The LT414 works with medium- to high-production trenching applications such as utility installation projects. Coming standard with hydraulic side-shift, the trencher is built to achieve optimal productivity in all ground conditions, from black dirt to gravel. The side-shift feature provides the operator with flexibility when working next to buildings.

The trencher features a larger diameter auger with a tapered design that removes more material from the side of the trench, limiting the amount of spoil falling back into the trench. The auger tapers from 14.25 in. (36 cm) at the base of the trencher boom to an outside diameter of 12 in. (30.5). The auger can be removed in order to trench next to buildings and other structures.
