Don Mullin, owner and chief operator of Concrete Express Inc. recently took home the grand prize from Elkin Manufacturing Inc. of a Richard Petty Driving Experience. The prize was the result of a drawing held in conjunction with ConExpo-Con/AGG.
Mullin visited the show in March to check out the latest in concrete equipment. A long-time Elkin customer and currently the owner of Elkin mobile concrete mixers, Mullin discovered the entry card on the cover of the show daily and paid a visit to the Elkin booth.
The package, dubbed “The Experience of a Lifetime,” entitled the winner to a “white-knuckled, heart pounding” 30 laps around one of many Petty NASCAR tracks across the country. Prior to driving, Mullin will go through a number of training and safety programs followed by one-on-one instruction from his pit road instructor, as well as critiques by his on-track advisor.
Surprised by winning the contest, Mullin said he would most likely pass the experience on to his son, Chris, who also works with the family business.
