J.J. Kane held a surplus equipment auction Dec. 12 in Atlanta, Ga.

Approximately 700 registered bidders online and onsite, representing 46 U.S. states and five countries, vied for 800 pieces of construction and power line equipment, fleet vehicles and construction tools, totaling $6.4 million of which $3 million was sold online.

Highlights of the sale included an Altec AH100 bucket truck, which sold for $105,000, as well as nine Altec AT37G bucket trucks going to the highest bidders.

Equipment was provided by Georgia Power Company, AGL Resources, and other regional and national fleets.
