More than 2,300 registered on site and online bidders from around the world gathered at J.M. Wood’s 39th Annual Spring Montgomery, Ala., Auction to bid on the impressive line-up on display. The auction was highlighted by 85 (2012-2007) Mack, Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, along with a very nice selection of county-owned Caterpillar 140M and 12M graders
The Internet accounted for more than $4,000,000 of the $27,563,000 in total sales and came in second countless times. Online bidders were registered from 31 states and 15 countries.
Though the Internet auction was a huge success it was apparent by the huge crowds that most customers like to come down and kick the tires for themselves.
“Equipment was sold and will be shipped to 17 countries,” said Company President Brenda Wood. “These international buyers prefer having all the equipment in one central location, making it easier for prepping, containerizing and logistics for overseas shipping once they have made their purchases.”
J.M. Wood’s next scheduled auction will be in Columbia, S.C., on April 25 and Sumter, S.C., on April 26.
