JM Woods held a large one-day auction Dec. 2 in Montgomery, Ala.

Billed as the 38th annual Late Fall Contractors Auction, the sale featured several county-owned 2007 Cat 140H graders that attracted buyers from Australia and Mexico, as well as two county-owned 2007 John Deere 770D graders selling to a buyer in Fort Worth, Texas.

Registered bidders onsite numbered 862, while 110 registered online bidders participated.

“Prices are getting stronger at the auctions across the country,” said Bryant Wood, vice president of JM Wood. “Clean late model equipment is getting harder to find around the globe. International buyers like the idea of all the equipment being in one location, making it easier to help arrange shipping and dismantling to get their equipment to the ports. We provide turnkey services to the buyer, from inspections before they buy the equipment until it gets on the boat or the job site down the road.”
