More Than 1,400 Bidders Vie for Nearly 650 Lots in Statesville, N.C.

More than 1,400 registered bidders from 35 countries, including 47 U.S. states, all 10 Canadian provinces and one territory, participated online and in-person at the Ritchie Bros. multi-million dollar auction that was held in Statesville, N.C., on Dec. 7.

Close to 650 lots were sold on auction day, 35 percent of which went to online bidders. More than 75 percent of the equipment and trucks sold in the auction (based on gross auction proceeds) went to buyers from outside the state.

Exceeding expectations, a sampling from the sale were a 2007 Ingersoll Rand SD 116DX smooth drum vibratory roller, 400 hrs., $75,000; a 2008 Volvo A30E, 1,300 hrs. $255,000; a 2007 Cat D6RXL Series III, 1,300 hrs., $195,000; 2007 Sterling L7500 truck asphalt distributor, $95,000; an a 2008 Vermeer D36X50 directional drill, $167,500.
