More than 1,900 bidders participated online and in person at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers’ multi-million dollar unreserved public equipment auction in Statesville, N.C., on Dec. 14. This sale closed out what John Fairley, area manager, declared was a “record year, selling more than $62,000,000 out of our Statesville region.”

Bidders came from more than 40 countries, including 49 U.S. states. More than three-quarters of the equipment was sold to buyers outside the state, from as far away as Japan, Singapore, Colombia, Austria and the United Arab Emirates. Online bidders purchased approximately 36 percent of the equipment lots sold.

The auction featured 1,000-plus equipment items and trucks from more than 140 owners, including 50-plus hydraulic excavators, 40-plus crawler tractors, 30-plus skid steer loaders, 25-plus loader backhoes, 30-plus truck tractors and more.

During the event, Ritchie Bros. presented a $2,000 donation on behalf of Ritchie Bros. in Statesville to the Greenville, S.C., Shriners Chapter.
