Pinnacle Cranes, a division of Carolina Tractor, visited Edwards Inc. on Nov. 19 and cooked them a hearty lunch. Mark Baker, Joe Crawford and John Dozier grilled up chicken, sausages and hotdogs. Lunch also included sides and cookies for dessert.

All of this was done in an effort to thank Edwards Inc. for the company’s continued loyalty to Pinnacle and the Link-Belt brand.

The company was founded in 1979 by Derrill Edwards. He began with a pickup truck, portable welder, hand tools and an initial investment of $7,000 saved while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Due to demand for commitment and quality, Edwards Inc. began to expand. In 1980, Derrill Edwards built his first shop, a 2000 sq. ft. metal building in Spring Hope, N.C.

In 1983 Edwards Inc. purchased its first crane, a 35-ton (31.7 t) Grove. In 1985, Edwards Inc. added a 100-ton (90.7 t) hydraulic crane, which was the largest in North Carolina at that time. By continuing to provide quality work, quality service and making a commitment to each customer, Edwards Inc. has grown into a large full-service industrial contractor and crane rental company in the southeastern United States.

Edwards Inc. was grateful to the Pinnacle Cranes staff for preparing lunch.
