Roy Teitsworth Holds Annual Municipal Auction in N.Y.

May 22, 2012 - Northeast Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

Roy Teitsworth Inc. held its annual municipal equipment auction at the Palmyra, N.Y., town highway department garage, located just outside of Rochester, N.Y., on May 12. This event always draws a significant number of buyers (approximately 1,000 registered bidders this year) each year for a number of reasons. The variety of items being sold is massive — park and recreational equipment, lawn mowers, pickup trucks, motorgraders, wheel loaders, backhoes, ambulances and fire trucks. Anything that could be owned by a New York State municipality for any number of reasons is at this auction.

Another unique feature of this auction is that because all items being sold are owned by municipalities other municipalities can come and purchase directly from this sale without going through a bid-letting process. Much of the equipment is in extraordinary condition because many municipalities have their equipment on a rotation plan and update it after just a few years of service.
