The Terex Roadbuilding Group of Terex Corporation has recently entered into an agreement with Allison Transmission, part of the General Motors Powertrain Division, making Allison automatic transmissions exclusive in all Terex brand concrete mixer trucks manufactured and distributed by Terex Roadbuilding.

The agreement, part of Allison’s EDGE program, offers fleet owners improved warranty coverage, lower routine maintenance costs and higher horsepower and torque ratings in transmissions, which is ideally matched to the needs of each of the 19 basic models of front- and rear-discharge transit-mix trucks in the Terex line.

Jim LoPresti, general manager of Terex Roadbuilding’s plant in Ft. Wayne, IN, said, “With more and more fleet operators moving to automatic transmissions, we saw an opportunity to partner with Allison and offer our customers great value.”

Jim Wanaselja, Allison Transmission director, North American marketing sales and service and global business activities, said, “As a partner in our EDGE program, Terex can now evaluate a customer’s needs, then offer the right transmission at the right price.”

Terex Roadbuilding manufactures a broad line of asphalt and concrete equipment for preparing, paving, maintaining, reclaiming and building roadways, bridges and infrastructure. Allison Transmission is a designer, manufacturer, and seller of medium- and heavy-duty automatic transmissions for trucks, buses, off-road and military vehicles, and RVs.
