Planning is under way for the World of Asphalt 2003 Show and Conference, a leading exposition and education resource. World of Asphalt 2003 will be held March 18-20, 2003 at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, TN.

Building on the success of the inaugural event held in 2001, World of Asphalt 2003 will feature twice the amount of exhibit space, expanded educational offerings and outdoor product demonstrations.

Buyers and Sellers Come Together

World of Asphalt 2003 will showcase the latest asphalt-related equipment, products and services with more than 150 names in the asphalt industry expected to exhibit their products and services in more than 60,000 sq. ft. (5,574 sq m). The exhibits will offer attendees a one-stop shopping experience where they can find product design innovations and technology.

Show management anticipates that more than 3,500 industry leaders, including top contractors, material producers, and state and agency equipment specifiers, will attend the World of Asphalt 2003 to take advantage of the event’s networking and educational opportunities.

"World of Asphalt will help bring industry professionals together face to face to facilitate valuable interaction, encouraging the exchange of ideas between equipment manufacturers, material producers, and service providers as well as the buying and selling of goods and services," said Show Managing Director Peter T. Vlahos.

Expanded Educational Offerings

World of Asphalt 2003 will expand on the education programming offered at World of Asphalt 2001. Two asphalt industry educational events are being held in conjunction with World of Asphalt 2003 — the Asphalt Pavement Alliance’s (APA) Asphalt Pavement Conference and the National Asphalt Pavement Association’s (NAPA) People, Plants and Paving Training Program.

The APA Asphalt Pavement Conference will be held March 17-19, 2003. This conference is a combination of two asphalt technical forums, the U.S. Hot Mix Asphalt Conference and the Superpave Forum. The conference showcases new technology and best practices, and is geared to researchers, designers, materials suppliers and contractors.

The NAPA People Plants and Paving Training Program will be held March 18-20, 2003. The program focuses on the latest paving and rolling techniques to improve quality, trends in efficient plant operations and management practices to improve workforce productivity. It is geared to managers, superintendents, foremen and other plant personnel.

Outdoor Demonstration Event

World of Asphalt 2003 also will feature live outdoor classroom demonstrations to complement the exhibits and education programs.

"Education is a key component of World of Asphalt 2003. A critical mass of engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and end-user professionals will be present, positioning this event’s educational offerings to advance the industry through the dissemination of information and the observation of its practical application," said Show Managing Director Dennis J. Slater.

For the Asphalt Industry, From the Asphalt Industry

World of Asphalt is co-owned by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) and co-owned and produced by ConExpo-Con/AGG Show Management Services. Event planning is being overseen by the World of Asphalt 2003 management committee, whose members represent contractors, producers, equipment manufacturers, and service providers, offering exhibitor and attendee perspectives and focusing on industry advancement.

Starting in 2001, NAPA partnered with ConExpo-Con/AGG Show Management Services to establish World of Asphalt.

World of Asphalt is held annually, except in ConExpo-Con/AGG years when ConExpo-Con/AGG highlights the asphalt equipment, products and services featured at World of Asphalt in distinct and major indoor and outdoor asphalt product concentration areas.
