Bridge Construction Reaches Major Milestone
The center lift span of Maine's new Sarah Mildred Long Bridge was floated into place Oct. 18. The bridge piece travelled up the Piscataqua River between 6 and 9 a.m. Edge Radio reported. Old Bay Bridge Demolition Commences
Demolition of the last Marine Foundations of San Francisco's Old Bay Bridge will continue Oct. 14, 15 and 16, as the third and final phase of the project nears completion. Caltrans said it will demolish Piers E11, E12 and E13 of the 1936 concrete East Span with a series of controlled, underwater implosions, which will last less than 10 seconds....
